In Concordia University Wisconsin’s Information Technology Department, Brett Seider steers a dynamic landscape of back-end systems and processes, managing a large number of technologies supporting financial aid, registrar operations, alumni and advancement, HR, admissions, student services — and more.
With the sunsetting of the legacy Luminis portal, Concordia University Wisconsin began evaluating its entire tech stack — questioning how systems integrate and operate while assessing ease of navigation.
Consulting for the Perfect Solution
The legacy Luminis portal operated as a link farm, making it difficult for users to get necessary information and resources. The goal was clear — find a platform that met current needs and offered flexibility for future enhancements.
In their quest for a perfect solution, the team consulted Tambellini Group and fellow Pathify customer Concordia University Irvine, before selecting Pathify over Ready Education and Ellucian Experience. Pathify’s flexibility, including Roles and web-mobile parity, paved the way for Concordia University Wisconsin’s unified campus experience.
Seider expressed excitement about Flow, Pathify’s proprietary middleware, in transforming the backend and frontend experiences. “We’re excited about the ability to customize our own widgets and create widgets that are important to us. That customization is so much easier with Pathify than any other platform.”
Finding Functionality & Flexibility
Roles were also a functionality requirement. “We didn’t have flexibility with targeted content before,” said Seider. “With Pathify, we can dial in exactly what we want to show each audience.”
Web-mobile parity provides another benefit. “Now, we have a completely unified experience between the web portal and the app,” he said. Providing a personalized, intuitive interface extends across the entire campus. “There’s an expectation to provide a 5-star user experience across the board — from recruitment and admissions to registration to graduation to alumni and advancement,” Seider remarked. “Pathify empowers us to do that.”
Concordia University Wisconsin plans to launch its Pathify portal in summer of 2024.
