An AI Agent aligns perfectly with Pathify’s mission to simplify the college experience, positioned to surface and nudge users toward relevant information while generating fast, reliable and verifiable responses to student questions.

Pathify’s AI Agent obtains verified answers by directly accessing institutional systems (like the SIS or LMS), avoiding the potential inaccuracies of GPT models that might generate plausible, unverified responses. Our Agent focuses solely on institutional content, ensuring data confidentiality and implementing safeguards to prevent fabricated answers.

Additionally, Pathify is working closely with Google, leveraging the Vertex AI platform. Pathify chose to partner with Google largely because it shares Pathify’s goal of using responsible AI.

Pathify’s Agent is backed by the stable release of the latest Google models and remains in its original, balanced state without additional training on customer or Pathify-specific data. Pathify’s AI Agent focuses on providing context on a per-question basis to maintain the Agent’s broad capability of answering a wide range of inquiries.

This approach ensures the AI Agent remains versatile and effective. In short, the Agent relies on context management to achieve response relevance.

The Agent will not store or share any sensitive information pertaining to an institution’s constituents or systems. Pathify’s AI Agent guarantees user data privacy by adhering to strict data protection protocols and never sharing information with third-party entities like Google, ensuring all data remains confidential and secure.

The Agent will use explicitly targeted and whitelisted websites as declared in the Admin Center — the same content which shows up in Pathify’s search bar as External Resources.

The Agent also searches and retrieves information from FAQs, events and calendars, tools, pages, and other Hub content, dynamically crawling these resources to provide accurate responses. The Agent also searches across connected providers, including the Student Information System (SIS) and Learning Management System (LMS).

Under the current architecture, the Agent will not go to the internet to perform a live search while evaluating a query.

Pathify’s AI Agent displays two distinct verification icons — one indicates the answer is based on provided data sources (Pages, FAQs, external sources) but may still be subject to inaccuracy while the other confirms the information is sourced directly from connected, verifiable sources (SIS, LMS).

The AI Agent can be configured with a profile picture, name and welcome message. It will also pick up an institution’s branding and light/dark mode preference from the authenticated individual.

Institutions can further customize the Agent’s behavior to match their specific needs and content structure. Within the Admin Center, Admins may adjust how the Agent responds to different inquiries with various settings. This interface allows Admins to see which content sources are considered and how they influence the Agent’s response.

The Agent connects with Pathify’s fast-growing list of integrations with higher ed’s most popular systems to display information like balances, holds, grades or GPA, schedules, assignments, and more. Pathify also provides access to Flow so institutions can easily connect the Agent with information housed in any system.

AI Agent data is sortable by time sequence, role and is downloadable for deeper analysis. The Agent offers real-time insights into user interactions, including:
